Kingfish Limited (NZX:KFL), a New Zealand-listed investment company, has reported a net profit of NZD 16.4 million for the six months ended 30 September 2025. The interim results highlight portfolio gains alongside dividend and interest income, supporting continued shareholder distributions and adjusted net asset value growth.
Portfolio Performance Supports Interim Profit
For the first half of FY26, Kingfish’s portfolio generated gross performance returns of +4.3% before fees and expenses, while the adjusted net asset value (NAV) return after fees, expenses, and tax was +3.5%. These returns were recorded against the S&P/NZX50G Index, which rose +8.3% over the same period. Profits on investments contributed NZD 14.1 million to the result, complemented by NZD 5.9 million in dividend and interest income. Operating expenses and tax reduced the total by NZD 3.6 million, resulting in a net profit of NZD 16.4 million.
Dividend Declared for Shareholders
In line with Kingfish’s quarterly distribution policy, the company paid 5.48 cents per share to shareholders during the six-month period ended 30 September 2025. The Board also declared an interim dividend of 2.70 cents per share, with a record date of 5 December 2025 and a payment date scheduled for 19 December 2025. This continues Kingfish’s approach of returning a portion of average NAV to investors each quarter.
Total Shareholder Return and NAV Growth
Kingfish reported a total shareholder return of +9.2% for the six-month period. Net tangible assets per quoted equity security were NZD 1.3403, compared with NZD 1.4138 in the prior year period. The results demonstrate ongoing portfolio performance in line with the company’s long-term investment objectives, offering investors exposure to a diversified portfolio of growing New Zealand companies through a single, tax-efficient vehicle.
