Quantum computing stocks rallied Monday ahead of Nvidia's (NASDAQ:NVDA) first-ever Quantum Day at its GTC AI Conference, set to run from March 17 to 21.

Arqit Quantum (NASDAQ:ARQQ) led the sector, soaring 34.59% by 12:59 PM ET. Quantum Computing ( QUBT) followed with a 14.30% gain by 1:02 PM ET, while D-Wave Quantum (NYSE:QBTS) climbed 6.06% by 1:02 PM ET.

Nvidia's upcoming Quantum Computing: Where We Are and Where We're Headed session on Thursday will feature industry leaders, including D-Wave CEO Alan Baratz, IonQ CEO Peter Chapman, and Rigetti CEO Subodh Kulkarni. Despite the quantum buzz, Nvidia shares dipped about 3% Monday.

Quantum computing has gained momentum as big tech firms enter the space. Last December, Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) unveiled its Willow quantum chip, and in February, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) introduced the Majorana 1 quantum processor, both of which fueled sector-wide gains.

However, market enthusiasm remains volatile. In January, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang cautioned that quantum computing is still decades away, briefly dampening investor sentiment and prompting pushback from D-Wave's Alan Baratz.

With Nvidia set to spotlight quantum advancements this week, investors are watching closely to see if the rally holds or fades.
