Overview

Verbrec Limited (ASX:VBC) has been awarded the McArthur River Pipeline Bi-Directional Upgrade Project by the Northern Territory Government-owned Power and Water Corporation. Valued at approximately $21 million, the contract will be executed in two stages through 2028. The project is intended to enhance gas transportation infrastructure supporting commercial production from the Beetaloo sub-basin. Building on a relationship spanning more than a decade with Power and Water Corporation, Verbrec will provide engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover services across the project, further expanding its presence in Australia's energy infrastructure sector.

Pipeline Upgrade to Support Future Gas Supply

The McArthur River Pipeline upgrade is expected to improve gas transportation capability across the Northern Territory. Stage 1, targeted for completion in 2026, will enable gas deliveries to the McArthur River Mine. Stage 2, scheduled for 2028, will introduce bi-directional gas flow capability, allowing reverse gas transmission into the Amadeus Gas Pipeline at Daly Waters. The broader project is designed to support the development of commercial gas production from the Beetaloo sub-basin while enhancing regional energy infrastructure.

Long-Term Client Relationship Underpins Contract Win

Verbrec has managed the McArthur River Pipeline for Power and Water Corporation for more than 10 years, providing engineering, operations and maintenance services. The latest contract extends that relationship and covers engineering design, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning and delivery of new infrastructure, including gas compression, metering facilities and third-party pipeline connections. The award reflects the company's ongoing involvement in major Australian energy infrastructure projects and its capability to deliver integrated lifecycle solutions.
